Job Summary
The Analyst plays a key role in organizing and leveraging various pan-Canadian HHR data assets for HWC analytical priorities. This may involve data management, developing and maintaining data and information standards, preparing relevant documentation, assessing data quality, contributing to dashboard design and development, and conducting ad-hoc analysis. Analysts participate in department/branch projects and initiatives, as well as other meetings and special projects including support of HWC advisory groups as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with the Lead and other members of the analytical team to support the production of key deliverables for internal and external dissemination. Key deliverables may include dashboards, presentations, and analytical reports.
- Conducts data management activities including writing and updating statistical code required for the development, computation, analysis, and/or verification of key deliverables. This may include support for the release of HHR data and information through reporting tools such as dashboards, including the execution of testing and validation to ensure accuracy of the deliverables.
- Maintains detailed knowledge of data, tools, and analytical techniques used to produce standard and ad-hoc outputs.
- Conducts environmental scans and literature reviews to support the development of tools, reports, and presentation materials.
- Supports the development of materials (e.g., conference abstracts, methodology or technical notes, website content, presentations, educational, etc.) for dissemination of findings and knowledge translation, and reviews written products for analytic accuracy and quality.
- Maintains current knowledge of Canada’s health workforce issues, trends in health services research and health policy, and stakeholder information needs to support current work and contribute to the development of new work.
- Participates in other Data & Planning or corporate project teams as required.
Knowledge and Experience
- Undergraduate degree in a related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- One to three years related experience working with relational databases and varying datasets, including manipulating, maintaining and preparing data and presenting analyses and reports for different audiences.
- Experience with data manipulation and statistical software, particularly in Python, R, or other statistical software is essential.
- Experience in use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative in adapting quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with minimal supervision.
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with an ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with BI tools is an asset.
- Fluency in English is required, bilingualism is an asset.

Virtual part-time employment opportunity with in-person team meetings a few times per year, for a maximum of 3 consecutive days
