Pop-up webinar: Supporting family caregivers
At our inaugural symposium, Health Workforce Canada heard that it is essential to focus on the critical role that family caregivers play in our healthcare system. They are often an underreported, unrecognized, but essential group when considering Canada’s health workforce.
To help bring focus to this important group of caregivers, Health Workforce Canada is excited to partner with Caregiver-Centered Care, University of Alberta, Department of Family Medicine, and Alberta Health Services for a pop-up webinar event. This session will be hosted on Tuesday, December 3rd from 1pm-2pm EST (10am-11am PST).
At the session, you will hear about the importance of supporting family caregivers and the valuable role they play in the healthcare workforce in Canada. We’ll review tangible work that the Caregiver-Centered Care Initiative, University of Alberta, Department of Family Medicine, and Alberta Health Services are implementing. We’ll also discuss current data and evidence, and potential solutions and recommendations that participants can bring back to their workplaces and jurisdictions to build a better system of support for family caregivers.
This session is open to all, with an emphasis on engaging stakeholders who are seeking solutions to support family caregivers.
We encourage you to sign up early, and if you can no longer attend, please contact kharrell@healthworkforce.ca.
