Health Workforce Canada celebrates vital role of women in strong health workforce

Women play a vital role in Canada’s health workforce. They are physicians and nurses, midwives and personal and other support workers. They are allied health professionals – dentists, dental assistants, dental hygienists, and part of many other clinical groups. Women, too, are an essential part of the workforce in clinical and corporate support, research and in health care leader roles.

On March 8, International Women’s Day, Health Workforce Canada wants to recognize the thousands of women who care for patients on the frontlines, as well as those who support the strong health workforce on which everyone relies.

We celebrate their contributions and recognize the challenges many have faced historically, as well as the challenges they continue to face today.

As a new independent organization, Health Workforce Canada is committed to bringing together partners to work together to build a strong healthy workforce in Canada and enhance care for everyone who lives here.
